Mobius started its operations in 2002 with two clients – one a market leader in the e-commerce space and the other, the world’s largest ISP cum portal. We now count some of the top industry leaders as our clients in our chosen industries.

We started our services with web based data collection, collation and delivery. Our services now encompass content aggregation, creation of rich content processing of data into actionable information and more for our clients. The verticals we focus are industry information and e-commerce, each a multi billion dollar industry with huge untapped potential.

Mobius approaches information generation in a rather unique fashion. This means looking at (and often, beyond) the Web for collecting and validating data. Furthermore, Mobius also creates tools and front-ends that significantly speed-up knowledge transfers. Finally, by collecting data not normally available in databases and converting raw data to rich data, Mobius ensures that its deliverables strongly fit your business needs.

Mobius also has a dedicated team of information specialists to handle your business information and acquire domain knowledge on an ongoing basis. Management

The Management consists of highly qualified professionals, with extensive knowledge in diverse domains. The team members have had entrepreneurial stints and also have vast experience in management, marketing, client relationship and education.

Karthik Karunakaran "KK":

Karthik is the CEO and Co-founder of Mobius. He graduated in Production Engineering from the Regional Engineering College, Trichy, one of the top engineering schools in India and went on to obtain an MBA from Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur, which ranks among the top five business schools in India.

Karthik then worked for Tata Steel, India's largest integrated private sector steel company where he focused on quality improvements in the service sector. At Tata Steel, Karthik was part of the key group that worked on the quality standards that ultimately brought in the ISO 9000 certification. Karthik himself is a lead assessor for ISO 9000 certification, certified by the British Standards Institute. Later, Karthik joined the Maxworth group, where his responsibilities included consulting on Business Process Reengineering and exploring internet applications for businesses. Before co-founding Mobius, Karthik was an entrepreneur being the country’s first franchisee of a kids computer learning and later became the Master licensee for an American company, setting up close to 100 franchises across the country.

Gautam Dalmia "GD":

Gautam Dalmia is the other co-founder of Mobius and is the honorary CFO. He has a B.S. from Loyola College, Chennai and a M.S. in Electronics & Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, New York.

As part of the Dalmia business family, he is actively engaged in managing their cements and sugar businesses. He brings a ton of experience in managing new projects and business expansion. His ability to keep the focus on the financial parameters to ensure that the end goals are met is a definitive strength he brings to Mobius.

Narendra Venkatramani "Venky":

Venky is the VP in charge of the Business Information profit center. Venky is a Mechanical Engineer with a Masters in International Business from IIFT, New Delhi – India's leading business school for an International Business Degree.

Venky has worked in some of India's leading engineering companies like Larsen and Toubro and Usha Martin Industries. Later, with Maxworth Orchards International, Venky was involved in international marketing and the export thrust in processed foods. Before joining Mobius, Venky was an entrepreneur and started a processed foods company. Venky also managed the challenging cable TV market in Chennai for a world-renowned sports broadcaster.

Umashankar S:

Uma, as Director – Online Retail, heads our “productization of services” initiative aimed at delivering path breaking services to online retailers. Uma, an instrumentation Engineer, is a Mobius veteran who has worked closely with numerous clients in ecommerce landscape. During his stint as head of ecommerce operations, his knowledge of ecommerce domain and process expertise came to the fore as he successfully created new services and built versatile teams to deliver. In June 2007, he went on a one year sabbatical to fine-tune his management skills at XLRI, one of India’s top B-Schools.

Andrew Sorensen:

Andrew is ‘Director – US Operations’ for Mobius. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Andrew brings a wealth of experience in the ecommerce and comparison shopping industries. He has a strong understanding of the challenges associated with content structure and is expert in bridging the gap with offshore teams. Prior to joining Mobius, Andrew led the industry-leading content operations group at Shopzilla, significantly increasing efficiency and accuracy through a combination of outsourcing and technology. Before that, he was a key member of the online retailer Organize.com, managing its fulfillment department and acting as the company's sole IT person and DBA. Andrew is an Information Systems graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Elena Christopher:

Elena is Vice President of Mobius’ Financial Services practice. She is responsible for overseeing all activities related to data and content services provided to the financial services sector.

Elena is an outsourcing industry veteran, serving as either an advisor or a vendor since 1994. Her previous roles include Chief Marketing Officer at Knovigate, a start-up offering a workflow management platform for the outsourcing industry; leadership of the Research & Analytics outsourcing practice at OfficeTiger/R.R. Donnelley; and nearly a decade of providing outsourcing-related advisory services at Gartner.

Accreditation
